Training Curriculum
YECCO provides systematic training to help members develop into future Gyeongbokgung Palace interpreters.
1. Interpretation Training
From March to August, new YECCO members undergo step-by-step, in-depth training on Gyeongbokgung Palace through interpretation education and by assisting senior members in their ongoing interpretation activities.
Each month, members are assigned specific content and keywords with which they create their own interpretation scripts.
After drafting their scripts, members receive feedback through monthly seminars and revise their work accordingly.
Upon completing the first-half curriculum and passing the interpreter qualification exam held in August, members are officially certified as interpreters.
2. Staff Participation
Members support senior interpreters as staff during weekend interpretation sessions held each month.
Through this experience, they observe actual interpretation practices, gain insights, and engage in Q&A sessions to refine their own scripts in preparation for their future activities.
3. Educational Materials
Healing Travel to the Palaces series: A book series by Hyangwoo Lee, a former Gyeongbokgung Palace interpreter.
Additional educational materials developed by YECCO, including keyword-based Gyeongbokgung Palace interpretation scripts.
